NFL football sports betting at sportsbooks and sports wagering sites comes to its highest point for the season with SuperBowl XXXIX 2005 scheduled for February 6 in Jacksonville. By this time, sportsbooks and sports betting fans of NFL Super Bowl football are already wasting no time in scrutinizing every pre-SuperBowl game, every NFL team score, every football player performance, searching for clues to help them bet to win via smartly made sports betting propositions, football game odds and futures. Reputable online sportsbooks like www.oasiscasino.com, www.vipsports.com, www.betgameday.com, or www.bodog.com are seeing the numbers shoot up in their NFL football sports betting pages. Will the Kansas City Chiefs win the AFC championship game? Will the New England Patriots do a surprising encore? Or will the Chiefs and Patriots cancel each other out and make the Pittsburgh Steelers the sleeper hit of the AFC? And if the Steelers do make it to the SuperBowl, who are they likely to come face to face with? Is it more likely the Seattle Seahawks or Carolina Panthers? Or will another sleeper, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, win the NFC championship game? Questions abound, and the multitude of NFL SuperBowl football sportsbooks and sports betting fans offer a multitude of answers. Sportsbooks and sports wagering sites offer equally differing NFL football game odds, futures, and betting propositions. Only one thing is for sure: those game odds will still change between now, as you read this, and the big day of the SuperBowl. While the SuperBowl 2005 winner is yet to emerge, none of this dilutes the thrill at sports betting and sports wagering. The truth is that, whatever teams are winning and losing, your knowledge of it is your sports betting advantage, your opening, your profit opportunity to weigh your NFL football game odds, futures, and bets wisely. In sportsbooks and sports betting, everyone likes to risk a little to win a lot. Just remember: some bets are like blackjack with good odds but only allowing for the doubling of your money, while others are like slot machines where the odds are not as high, but if you win, money keeps falling out of that machine. So take a look at the NFL SuperBowl favorites and long shots then get to the sportsbooks and sports betting sites to make your move. NFL SuperBowl 2005 Predictions and Football Game OddsWidely recognized sports handicapper Ty Gaston goes through every NFL football team's shot at going to Jacksonville for SuperBowl 2005. AFC East The New York Jets last year were 6-10 and unable to stop the run. With Chad Pennington at the QB throttle, don't expect much more as Ty looks at the Jets as a 6-10 team this season. The Jets are currently 20-1 to win the SuperBowl. The Buffalo Bills were 6-10 last year, and until Drew Bledsoe learns how to get rid of the football, Ty can't see the Bills winning more than 7 games. The running back controversy will haunt the Bills all season long. Buffalo is 25-1 odds to win the SuperBowl. The Miami Dolphins are 10-6 with Ricky Williams, 6-10 without him! AJ Feeley is not the answer at QB, plus now they need to find a running game. The loss of a big time wideout and the AFC sack leader are also big negatives for the Dolphins. Miami is 17-1 and going higher to win the SuperBowl. The New England Patriots were 14-2 last year with a SuperBowl win over the Carolina Panthers. Corey Dillon will help the run game, while Tom Brady needs to stay healthy as an injury to him will be a catastrophy. The Patriots are loaded and ready to try to defend their title. The 2002 Patriots were champions and were loaded as well, yet didn't make the playoffs. New England is hoping history won't repeat itself. The Patriots are the current 2nd favorite to win the SuperBowl at 4-1 odds. AFC North The Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals have no shot at the SuperBowl. Both teams will struggle to win 8 games. Cleveland is at 40-1 odds while the Bengals are 25-1. The Baltimore Ravens should at least duplicate their 10-6 record of a year ago with their superb defense. The Ravens are 10-1 to win the SuperBowl. The Pittsburgh Steelers will improve drastically and should go 10-6 whether it is Tommy Maddox or Ben Roethlisberger at the helm. The Steelers are listed at 20-1 and a definite sleeper to win the SuperBowl. AFC South The Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans are sure fire 11 games' winners in the upcoming season as both were 12-4 a year ago. Both are playoff bound as Indianapolis is 7-1 and Tennessee is 10-1 to win the SuperBowl. The Jacksonville Jaguars are getting a lot of hype and Ty can't see it. The Jaguars should win 9 games but this is not the year they come into their own and are a 30-1 shot to win the SuperBowl. The Houston Texans are 50-1 to win the SuperBowl, and deserve to be higher. They may win 6 games just because of their defense. AFC West The San Diego Chargers will struggle to win 4 games as they did last year. At 80-1 odds to win the SuperBowl, you would be throwing money away. The Oakland Raiders have the same problem they have every year - discipline. Theoretically the worst penalty team in the league year after year, penalties will once again hurt them. Ty likes the addition of Amos Zeroeue at running back and help take them from a 4-12 team last year to a respectable 9-7 this year. Oakland's SuperBowl odds are set at 20-1. The Denver Broncos always seem to find a running back, and this year's addition is a kid called Quentin Griffin, with veteran Garrison Hearst getting some calls on third down. Jake Plummer at QB needs to finally come into his own and put his stamp on the Denver offense, and if he does, the Broncos win 10 games and make the playoffs. 10-1 is Denver's odds of winning the SuperBowl. The Kansas City Chiefs were 13-3 last year. Ty can't see that happening again this year but maybe 11 wins is a shot. Trent Green does possess a lot of weapons, the big question mark is defense. Kansas City is 8-1 to win the SuperBowl. NFC East The Dallas Cowboys won 10 games last year, expect 8-8 this year. Vinnie Testaverde will be injury-prone and Drew Henson is years away. Dallas is 15-1 to win the SuperBowl. The New York Giants with either Peyton Manning or Kurt Warner at QB should be much improved over their 4-12 record last year. The Giants can win 9 games and sneak into the playoffs in the weak NFC. At 25-1 to win the SuperBowl, they will be at least two years away. The Washington Redskins, despite the addition of Joe Gibbs as coach, Clinton Portis at RB, and Mark Brunell at QB, are an 8-8 or 7-9 team. The Redskins Super Bowl odds of 10-1 are quite low and strictly based on Gibbs' past coaching performances. The Philadelphia Eagles won't win 12 games again despite the addition of Terrell Owens. The defense lost too many key players, especially at the cornerback slots. Philadelphia needs to reinvent its rushing attack as well. 11 wins are not out of the question but Philadelphia has a history of losing NFC championships. The Eagles are the current 7-2 favorite to win the SuperBowl. But Ty thinks there are other teams at better odds than this Philadelphia team, which will have problems pass defending and running the ball on offense. 7-2 odds is too short a price on this Philadelphia team to win the SuperBowl. NFC North The Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears will both struggle to win 6 games. Detroit is currently 50-1, and Chicago 30-1, to win the SuperBowl, and both rightly so. The Minnesota Vikings needs to find a running back and can improve on their 9-7 campaign a year ago. 11 games are not out of reach and the Vikings are definite playoff contenders at 6-1 odds to win the SuperBowl. The Green Bay Packers will win 10 or 11 games and will need home field advantage to win the NFC championship game. Green Bay at 7-1 has a shot to win the Super Bowl but Ty doesn't feel it is likely. NFC South The Atlanta Falcons are finding out their superstar Michael Vick at QB is a crybaby...this hurts, that hurts, wah, wah, wah! Matt Schaub is the incumbent quarterback of the future for the Falcons. The kid can throw, run, and is not a crybaby. Don't be surprised if Vick gets hurt again and demands a trade. 17-1 odds on the Falcons winning the SuperBowl is more than a longshot with Vick at the helm. Atlanta struggles to win 8 games, and on top of that, Deangelo Hall broke his hip and will be out for quite some time at the cornerback slot. The New Orleans Saints are getting a lot of press as a sleeper team and Ty can't see it. The Saints are justifiably listed at 35-1 odds to win the Super Bowl. The Carolina Panthers lost the SuperBowl to the New England Patriots and were 11-5 last year. Maybe the Panthers will have 9 wins this year if Jake Delhomme stays healthy. And the current odds of Carolina to win the SuperBowl at 15-1 should be higher, perhaps 20 or 25 to one. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 7-9 last year will improve to 10 wins, and the Buccaneers may even steal the NFC South from the Panthers. Tampa Bay is listed at 10-1 odds to win the SuperBowl, and could be a sleeper. NFC West The Arizona Cardinals will try hard to match their 4-12 season last year. Too many injuries have already put the Cardinals behind the 8 ball. Dennis Green as head coach will have this Arizona team mentally ready but they lack overall talent against every other NFL team. 100-1 odds is very, very low for Arizona. The San Francisco 49ers' quarterback Tim Rattay has lingering injuries and it is hard to believe they gave up on Jeff Garcia so soon. After all the 7-9 version of last year. the 49ers should have been much better as they lost 5 games by bad field goal kicking, games, in fact, they should have won. This year, San Francisco will be lucky to win 7 games and the 49ers will find out midseason that Ken Dorsey is their quarterback of the future and not Tim Rattay. San Francisco is 30-1 odds to win the SuperBowl. The St Louis Rams won 12 games with their acclaimed "Greatest Show on Turf" but will probably win just 10 games this year and be a minor playoff contender. Defense will be their nemesis again as they give up too many points and go conservative with big leads! The Rams are 7-1 to win the SuperBowl and Ty feels they are a waste of money unless betting games to go over the total during the regular season. The Seattle Seahawks are probably the most improved team in the league on offense and defense as Mike Holmgren has his club ready to make the big run at the Super Bowl. Holmgren knows how to handle quarterbacks and his previous QB's of Joe Montana, Steve Young, and Brett Favre prove that he knows how to coach the position better than anyone in the NFL. This year's version of super quarterback will be Matt Hasselbeck and he will lead the Seahawks' potent offense. If Seattle can win on the road, 12 wins is a given. Strong Defense, Strong Offense spells SUPER BOWL, and at 12-1 odds, probably the best wager of all NFL teams to win the SuperBowl. NFC (National Football Conference) Championship The Seattle Seahawks can handle the Philadelphia Eagles or Green Bay Packers if they achieve home field advantage in the NFC Championship game. Seattle looks very, very strong with few weaknesses. AFC (American Football Conference) Championship Yes, the New England Patriots are loaded, yes, the Kansas City Chiefs are loaded. But these two teams may cancel themselves out and leave the door open for the 25-1 underdog, the Pittsburgh Steelers. A different team steps up every year in the NFL and this year's version of the Pittsburgh Steelers could be that Super Sleeper team. SuperBowl XXXIX Ty Gaston's 2005 SuperBowl Prediction: SEATTLE SEAHAWKS VS PITTSBURGH STEELERS Before the Seattle Seahawks went to the NFC West, this game could never have been possible. The strength in the NFL this year will come from AFC teams Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers, and yes, New England Patriots, of course! The NFC will have a hard time against AFC teams with the exception of the Seattle Seahawks who seem to be the apparent heir of power in the NFC. Ty likes an all-former-AFC Superbowl, with Seattle and longshot Pittsburgh playing in SuperBowl 2005 in Jacksonville. Also See:
