National Football League pro football's Super Bowl most valuable players

Related Topics:

What truly makes the Super Bowl the most watched single-day sports event in America and a goldmine of pro football betting, odds, and futures at Super Bowl sportsbooks are the NFL teams. And what makes winning teams out of the National Football League are no other than the best pro football players themselves. Many of them, American sports has rightly recognized as the Super Bowl MVPs, or Most Valuable Players. Last year, at Super Bowl XXXVIII in Houston, Texas, the coveted NFL title went to New England Patriots QB Tom Brady, his second Super Bowl MVP title in three NFL pro football seasons at only age 26. Tom Brady from Michigan College completed a Super Bowl record 32 of 48 passes for 354 yards and three touchdowns, and set up kicker Adam Vinatieri's 41-yard field goal with four seconds left to give the New England Patriots their 15th consecutive victory and second NFL championship in three seasons with a 32-29 victory against the Carolina Panthers.

Of course, the NFL pro football player who holds the most Super Bowl MVP titles to date, three in nine NFL pro football seasons, is legendary San Francisco 49ers QB Joe Montana. Counted among the best, if not the single greatest, NFL Super Bowl quarterbacks, Joe Montana was Super Bowl MVP in 1982, 1985, and 1990. Besides Patriots QB Tom Brady, there are only two other two-time Super Bowl MVPs, Bart Starr (the first ever Super Bowl MVP in 1967) and Terry Bradshaw. At Super Bowl XXXVII in 2003, Dexter Jackson of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was named Super Bowl MVP. To pro football fans and followers of Super Bowl bets, odds, and futures, these have been some of the names that could be counted on when making their choices for NFL football bets.

For Super Bowl XXXIX 2005 in Jacksonville, more names are cropping up; some newer, like QBs Ben Roethlisberger from Pittsburgh Steelers, Michael Vick from Atlanta Falcons, or Drew Brees from San Diego Chargers, and some more familiar, like QBs Peyton Manning from Indianapolis Colts, Donovan McNabb from Philadelphia Eagles, or Chad Pennington from New York Jets. Steelers rookie Ben Roethlisberger himself has drawn comparisons to Buffalo Bills great Jim Kelly, while Tom Brady might simply surprise us and make a new Super Bowl MVP record as the Patriots remains a strongly competitive NFL team. As the Super Bowl sportsbooks and fans are busy naming names for the coming NFL pro football super championship, let us look back to the priveleged few Super Bowl MVPs in American pro football history.
